then the last day, just to blow it all out of perspective we drove into the salt planes, where it seemed as if you were on a boat, or floating, the white brilliance stinging your eyes.

the salt was thick enough to land a small plane on, miles of it, and nothing else to be seen, the pale blue sky merging into it.

after so much nothing an island emerged on the horizon, la isla de pescadores (a name that makes no sense.) the island is full of rock caves and huge cactuses up to 12metres tall and 1200 years old and a family of rabbit like creatrures with squirrels tails and a kangaroos jump. tables of salt, chairs of cactus wood.

a world of wonders.
